Hometown?
Greenville, NC, but I have lived up and down the east coast. New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and most recently, Atlanta, GA. I've been in the Chuck for almost five years now.
What I wanted to do when I grew up?
I've always wanted to work in radio. I was the kid who called radio stations to make requests every day after school. In fact, i'm probably single-handedly responsible for the success story that is Paula Abdul. My bad on that one.
Favorite quote or saying?
I tend to say "Yes sir" a lot. It works well with adults(Are you doing well today, young man? 'Yes, Sir') and everyone else(Are we hitting the bars tonight? 'Yessir!')
First thing I would buy if I had a million dollars?
Hmmm. Lots of sneakers. I mean, LOTS of sneakers.
Favorite Hip-Hop album?
Souls of Mischief, "93 'Til Infinity". I remember hearing Heiro for the first time and thinking, "These guys are from Cali?" They had such incredible lyricism...and this was back when Dre, Snoop and Ice Cube were the big boys out West. My ipod bounces all over the spectrum...De La Soul, Tribe, Wu Tang, Outkast, Gang Starr.
Favorite Producer?
This is a tough one. So many great producers...Swizz, Pete Rock, Pharrell, Dre, Rza and Premier are at the top of my list.
Favorite Radio moment?
When I was in Atlanta, I was on air one Saturday afternoon when a guy knocks on the door of the studio. "Hey man...we have Nelly here for an interview". Great, you say...except no one had told me. I had roughly ninety seconds to get five minutes worth of questions together. Luckily, he was a great guy...and really short. That helped.
